April 2023 Syllabus - Choral & School Groups

School Choirs

School Choir categories are for any group of singers from an Educational Institution. Choirs may be of any size and may be mixed voice, treble or bass.

Elementary Choirs are encouraged to sing 2 contrasting selections. Secondary School Choirs are encouraged to sing 2 or 3 contrasting selections, within a max 15 minute time limit. Live accompaniment is preferred. If other arrangements are required, please be sure to contact the Festival Director by email.

ADJUDICATION PLUS categories will be scheduled for a clinic with the adjudicator, immediately following their performance. This will allow them to stay on stage and have the adjudicator work directly with the choir and actively explain the ideas they have for the group, and for the choir to work at incorporating them, under the direction and leadership of the adjudicator.

The focus of the Festival is on learning in a welcoming environment. Please come ready to sing for the joy of it and to learn from our adjudicator who will meet all choirs wherever they are currently at! We look forward to hearing you!
