PFWW Classical Voice
Our Classical Voice workshop takes place at Burton Ave. United Church on Sunday March 15th beginning at 1:00pm. Our adjudicator/clinician will be Allison Arends. Full schedule details will be sent to participants following the close of registration for the workshop.
Accompaniment is required for this workshop. You may bring your own accompanist, or you may purchase the Accompaniment Package add-on. This will provide you with a 15 minute rehearsal with our accompanist prior to the workshop and then accompaniment through the workshop on March 15th. For those selecting the accompaniment packages, you will be contacted by the Festival office to schedule a rehearsal in the days leading up to the workshop. ***PLEASE NOTE*** At this time we are just finalizing details with the accompanist, including cost. We will advise those registered once we have things finalized. Please don't register for this option yet, until the price has been posted.
The preFestival Winter Workshops are offered as an opportunity for students to share their 'work in progress' as they are preparing for the current Festival and get valuable feedback from the previous year's adjudicator in order to help guide their work in polishing this year's pieces. Please note that you do not need to look at these as requiring polished performances. The goal is to give you feedback upon which you can act and make improvements prior to April. Students may play one piece in its entirety or parts of 2 pieces. They are encouraged to work with their teacher to determine what it would be most valuable for them to play to get feedback on.
Workshops will offer students the opportunity to perform and receive feedback in a MasterClass, combined with a presentation/demonstration by the Adjudicator, relevant to the ages and levels of the students attending.
Workshops will be scheduled for approximately 4 hours max, but each student will attend for approximately 2.5 hours as they will be split into 2 groups for the MasterClass portion. There will be a cross over time in the middle for both groups which will include the presentation/demonstration as well as a social time.
