Welcome to the Barrie Music Festival Association

The Barrie Music Festival Association (BMFA) organizes annual events for young people wishing to demonstrate their progress in their respective artistic fields through performance. We are grateful for the financial support of our business and individual patrons and sponsors.

In April 2017, the Barrie Music Festival Association held a Choral Workshop with Dr. Gerard Yun on the song “One Voice”.  9 different choirs of all ages and abilities came together and created the soundtrack for this video.  We feel that this track and the accompanying photos represent the overall goals of the Barrie Music Festival Association, in bringing music to all people, from students of all abilities, giving them a chance to grow and learn from their musical experiences.

Music in the Mall – January 22-26, 2018

Music in the Mall is an evening program, held annually for 1 week at the end of January.  This year, Music in the Mall will be held beside the Food Court at RioCan Georgian Mall from Monday, January 22 – Friday, January 26.  Any interested amateur student is welcome to perform during this event.  Provided equipment includes: digital piano, mic, mic stand and amplification system.  If a student requires further equipment, they will need to provide this.  We have welcomed solo pianists, singers, string players, school rock bands and school choirs, community bands, ukulele players and guitarists to this week of performances.  If you are interested in taking part, there is no cost – simply email Katie@barriemusicfestival.com or call 705-726-1764 to request a performance time.  There is a maximum time limit of 30 per student or 60 minutes per studio – this allows us to welcome as many students as possible for this event.
